The Bosch brand's reputation for excellence dates back to 1886, when Robert Bosch founded Robert Bosch GmbH as a precision-tool and engineering workshop in Stuttgart, Germany. Today, Bosch makes a wide variety of tools, kitchen appliances, and more. The company's MUM 7100 700-watt stand mixer/food machine helps out so much when cooking, it almost seems as if there's an extra sous chef in the kitchen. A small revolution in stand mixing, the motor is placed under the mixing bowl and is one of the most powerful you'll find among mixers of the same size, with a belt drive system that transmits torque better than many other models. The 12-by-14-by-10-1/4-inch (height by width by depth) mixer drives all accessories off a single mounting position and has four speed settings, plus a momentary pulse function, that install just the right amount of control as you go from fluffing egg whites to making bread. The plastic surfaces of this kitchen machine are easy to clean, it has convenient cord storage and suction feet that add stability, and its compact size takes up a lot less counter space than other mixers. A handy instruction booklet, beating and stirring whisks, a spatula, and the exclusive stainless-steel Bread Master dough hook are included (other attachments are available separately), and all accessories are dishwasher-safe. Adding to the cool multifunctional nature of this machine is the included blender that fits onto the same motor and has a 6-cup capacity. When using the blender, the unit is 13-3/4 inches tall. A.J. Summary: We love this machine except for two tiny problems 2005-05-04
Comment: I purchased the bosch concept 7 with blender and food processor in March 2005. I think of something to make in it everyday. It came with the european dough hooks which some say are useless but my children are all raised so to make bread for just my husband and I it works great. However only making two loaves made me wish the bowl were smaller. Also even with a small batch the dough does work up under the center part that covers the shaft that the hooks attach to. It also worked into the center drive post. No big deal but I was surprised, it wasn't engineered a little tighter so that wouldn't happen. We have found the machine very easy to operate, very capable of everthing we've made in it but there are a couple problems we have. The blender blade unit cannot go in the dishwasher so you must take it off after every use. There is a spring loaded handle that you use to tighten it on and loosen it to remove it. It works to put it on but when the machine operates it must tighten it. We can hardly get it off. I don't have as much finger strentgth as I used to so I always need my husband to get it off and he even has problems. I've about decided to just wash the whole blender unit by hand and not take the blade assemble off. My next little thing is the cover for the drive mechanism. It is a large "lid" and very flat. My small hand won't fit over it so I can't grab it and just lift it off. It just sits over the drive mecahnism, it doesn't snap on or anything but I have to use both hands and kind of flip at it. It should be such a simple thing but I struggle getting it off every time. I've thought of buying a sticky backed knob or something and putting on it so I could just lift it off. These things of course have no negative reflection on the machine's usage. The bread I've made so far and the rolls have a nice smooth texture, with the gluten well developed. It mixes up cookies quickly with all ingredients mixed in well. The base unit is smooth and easy to wipe off and clean. The slow start is especially nice when using the blender. The bigger base on the blender makes it very stable. There are many more positives about this unit than these two minor negatives and they are most likely just because we are getting older, but they are frustrating.

Summary: Love My Concept7!! 2004-06-29
Comment: I received a Concept 7 for my birthday this past May. It's powerful, sleek and stores nicely. We purchased the model with the heavy duty American dough hook and am quite pleased that we did. It easily handles large amounts of dough (I make 6 loaves of 100% whole wheat bread at a time). We haven't had any trouble getting the attachments on the base. They go on easily with little or no effort. Clean up is a breeze. Overall, this is a fantastic machine and I would recommend it to anyone.

Summary: Great Mixer, I love it!!!! 2003-12-11
Comment: This is a wonderful mixer.
Holds alot of ingredients. I can make loads of cookies and breads with only one recipe!!
I like the convenience of the attachments and they don't take up as much space as seperate machines.
Make sure you order cookie/batter whips (not available on Amazon) if you are making cookies. The wire whips will not work on cookies and the dough hook does not work well for them either.
I bought the stainless blender, food processor and citrus juicer attachments as well as the cookie/batter whips.

Summary: Bosch Concept 7 2003-05-28
Comment: I've been very pleased with my Bosch. After researching my options, I went with the Bosch for its power, capacity, reputation, and design. I've found that it easily handles large batches of dough. The mix-from-the-bottom design makes it easily to add ingredients while it is kneading the dough. The Bosch kneads well when conditions are right (you can't just dump in the ingredients and let it go). But learning what those conditions are takes practice. One tip: start with an overly wet dough and gradually add flour. It seems to knead best when the dough rings the center column, when this happens increase to speed setting 2. It is fairly loud, but most stand mixers are. It cleans up well, stores nicely (you can fit all the included attachments in the bowl), and has the look and feel of a high-quality product. I haven't used the blender or beaters yet.
I highly recommend this product and don't regret my purchase. Serious yeast bread bakers shouldn't limit their options to the Kitchen Aid series. I didn't have good luck with my Kitchen Aid Classic mixer. I didn't give it 5 stars due to the learning curve for kneading...but overall I'm very pleased.

Summary: Best mixer on the market 2002-12-02
Comment: I purchased this product a few weeks ago. Bread dough is kneads as fast as cake batter. Nothing slows it down. No need to let the dough rise twice - kneads so well that one rising is all that it takes. Monster cookies, pumpkin pie, all came out great using this mixer. I got the ice cream maker - works just wonderful. Ice cream in 15 minutes! I also purchased the food processor - works just great. This is the best mixer I have ever owned. All items store great and have lids so items don't get dusty between use. I'd recommend this mixer for the serious cook. This mixer is just wonderful!!
