Product Review
Product Description
It's like two appliances in one! All the power and versatility you expect from a Cuisinart food processor, combined with a seven speed glass jar blender. You'll be completely equipped to make an Orange Creamsicle Shake or Lemon Ricotta Cheesecake with Raspberry Sauce. The economy of design demonstrated by the SmartPower Duet is impressive, and sure to be especially appreciated by those with limited storage.
Amazon.com Review
Two powerful kitchen appliances have been brought together in this blender/food processor by Cuisinart. The heavy-duty motor base is up to both blending and processing tasks, and won't "walk" on the counter, even when it's crushing ice. Use the blender with its dripless pour spout to make and serve 40 ounces of frozen drinks or to purée baby foods or soups; use the processor to prep up to 3 cups of vegetables, cheeses, nuts, and meats. With one motor base, it's simple to keep the blender out on the counter and then bring out the processor attachment for special tasks.

This is an amazingly sturdy product, with tight-fitting lids, a heavy glass blender jar, and a motor that chops meat or ice with equal aplomb. Most attachments are dishwasher-safe, and the flat touch pad, which has seven settings (including ice crush and pulse), is easily wiped down with a sponge. This dual appliance comes with a booklet that explains how to use all the features and lists 48 recipes, from cranberry-orange mimosas to classic mayonnaise. --Maria Dolan

Summary: Don't waste your money... Poor Quality Control 2010-07-24
Comment: This was junk right out of the box. On day one it produced a slight odor, and although I really knew better, I wrongly dismissed the smell as a byproduct of the break in period. It was stupid not to return it, but at the same time, good quality control does NOT include using the consumer as the test agent. Good quality control means that well over 99.8% of the appliances that reach the consumer will work well, and work well out of the box.

Two years later our machine has given up the ghost. That's about $40 bucks a year for the opportunity to use a blender/food processor. Too muchee money for the privilege. This is the second Cuisinart appliance that died way before its time. Our 30 year old, stainless, Cuisinart skillets are excellent, but our experience with the Cuisinart countertop appliances is just plain rotten. Cuisinart's ability to manufacture decent appliances is highly suspect. Fool me once, shame on you, but fool me twice, shame on me. Sorry Cuisinart, but never, never, ever again.

Summary: It's OK until it breaks. 2010-07-21
Comment: My little food processor is still going strong but the blender didn't last long before it started leaking everywhere every time I used it. I finally gave up and threw it away. Not for the serious cook.

Summary: Buttons crack and break 2010-07-08
Comment: This happened after 2 1/2 years- worked ok until then, but nothing to write home about (ok but not great)We can still use it- IF we want to poke a wooden spoon into the hole to turn it on. VERY disappointed- didn't expect this of a major name brand.

Summary: Good but expensive 2010-07-07
Comment: The product is wonderful, especially for couples who are starting a life together in small spaces.
I received the product within the stipulated time and in perfect condition, but days later I saw the same product at a Costco store in Orlando 25 dollars below the price at which I bought from Amazon.

Summary: Everyone should have this in their kitchen 2010-06-10
Comment: Let's face it, if you are going to have a blender and food processor, why not have a 2 in 1 product. My roommate had this device and I used it all the time. As soon as I got my own place I had to get one. I love that it is easy to switch devices on the base. The food processor makes the perfect serving of salsa! :)
