Product Review
Product Description
Powerful, versatile, and blessed with sleek good looks, this processor packs a lot into a small package. The 3-cup workbowl is convenient for many prep tasks and the exclusive SmartPower Blade auto-reverses to chop or grind at your command. Unlike larger models, this machine takes up very little counterspace, so leave it out to help you with daily meal prep like chopping onions, making garden fresh salsas and more. This little 250-watt workhorse comes in handy when a full-size food processor is unnecessary. The 3-cup work bowl is just right for making pesto or a salad dressing, and two receptacles in the lid have pinholes for one or two oils to stream into the bowl while the processor is blending a perfect emulsion. It's also ideal for chopping and grinding. Pressing the "chop" button deploys the sharp edge of Cuisinart's patented reversible blade to chop onions, herbs, or bread crumbs. Pressing the "grind" button whirls the blade in the other direction so its blunt side can grind nuts, coffee beans, or cheese. Compact at just 9 inches high and lightweight (it has a plastic body), the Mini Prep Plus can be tucked away in a cabinet, and the little spatula accompanying it goes into a drawer. It carries an 18-month warranty against defects. The plastic work bowl and lid are dishwasher-safe, but the stainless-steel blade should be hand washed to protect its edges. --Fred Brack

Summary: Perfect! 2010-09-02
Comment: After looking at so many grinder/choppers in so many price ranges I decided to look at the reviews instead. I needed a small grinder to puree food for my kitty because he's older and food was getting caught in an area where he had a tooth extracted. The softer the better, right? This little grinder turned out to be perfect for so much more than kitty food. I make olive tampanade and the chopper mode is great. The grind mode puree's very smooth and creamy. I love it!

Summary: Motor burned out twice 2010-09-01
Comment: I use this instrument mainly to puree semi-frozen bananas and chop onions. It chops quite coarsely, which is minimally useful, but my biggest complaint is that the motor burned out not once, but TWICE! I'd only used it a handful - maybe 5 times total for 2 machines? - since purchasing it. The first time it burned out, I exchanged it through the 18-mo warranty, which was a bit cumbersome with being put on hold for 20 minutes, and then the FedEX returns (I work during the day, so it was difficult to schedule a pickup) and swap. However, when I received the new one, I had only used it twice before it burned out again!

Summary: Totally useless 2010-08-29
Comment: I bought this thinking it would be a nice little chopper for herbs, garlic or parmesan cheese. It fails miserably. The only thing it chops well is air. The blade spins nice and fast until you put anything in and then it comes to a grinding halt. The only thing I've managed to chop with it is a few sprigs of parsley. Apparently, the motor is so weak that it can only handle the lightest task. It's a complete waste of money and I don't recommend it at all.

Summary: Mini Chop Chrome 2010-07-20
Comment: Chopper is a great replacement for one that finally quit after almost 9 years. As long as you don't overload it, it's a fantastic food prep product.

Summary: Absolutely love it 2010-07-06
Comment: I read several reviews on Cuisinart and other brands of small food processors, and figured I would go with this one (old food processor melted in the dishwasher and didn't chop very well),

1. Uses minimal about of pushes of either button to get food chopped up (about 3-4, if you cut food up into about 2 inch chunks)--however I pulsed a whole boiled egg with no problem

2. Super easy to clean! The housing unit does not get food on it when you are using it

3. Looks nice, has a good weight to it (not cheap feeling)

I have chopped eggs, onion, celery, tomatoes, garlic all with no problem. You get well blended, small bits for easy cooking. I have no complaints and would definately suggest to anyone.
