Summary: You garra be careful with it! 2010-03-06
Comment: First of all be aware of the following blade: Cuisinart 6-by-6mm Fruit, Vegetable and French Fry Disc, fits 14-Cup Processor, as it doesn;t fit this processor. YES!!! The Cuisinart FP-12DC Elite Collection Processor, 14 cups, die cast, is indeed a very nice and robust looking processor. But, I am not impressed with it. You garra be very careful with it. When you wanna put all the bowls back (after washing them or what-ever), you MUST align them properly, and it is not very clear when you "got it" all in. You just know that something is wrong, but you don't know what. Then, after watching the God-Dam video you realize that it is not as easy as 1, 2, 3. Moreover, it is not very easy to work with those bowls. Again, you garra be careful how.........bla......bla........bla. You get my point? IT IS NOT EASY and INTUITIVE, as I was hopping that it would be. Other than that it does what it suppose to do.

Summary: Love my Cuisinart! 2010-02-28
Comment: I bought the FP-14DC Elite because my old one was 30 years old and the bowl cracked. Replacing it seemed to cost around $100, so I decided too spring for a new one. I did a lot of research online before deciding on this one and I believe that I have made the right choice. This machine is amazing!
I love the 3 bowls! What a great idea! Really useful, and not difficult to handle. The power of this machine is amazing! So far I have made pizza dough, rye bread, shredded cheese, sliced potatoes, tomatoes and shredded cabbage. I use this machine almost daily and find it easy to use and very efficient. I would buy this again, for sure.

Comment: This is the third Cuisinart I have purchased. I previously used my food processor several times a week. I now use the new one occasionally. I had such high hopes for it, it sounded great! But I find it very confusing and difficult to use. The pros: it is fast, you don't have to hold the blade in place when emptying the bowl, there is more flexibility in slicing thickness. The negatives: it is too large in the dishwasher and on the counter, the bowls are hard to get out (it is a counter intuitive motion), it is too heavy to move around, there are too many parts to keep changing around. I would not have made the bowls nest, it makes it too tall, and not had two different size main blades that need an extra part to fit some and not other blades. It is just not that user friendly. You really have to watch the DVD more than once, and even then it is way too complicated. Really disappointed in it.

Summary: Love it.....Hate it 2010-02-21
Comment: I brought this a day ago and today was my first day using it....I started out by making some breadcrumbs.....they came out beautiful and I was very impressed...but later on I went on to chop some herbs for a vinaigrette...and while it made a lovely dressing...when I went to go clean the top the nightmare began...there were pieces of chopped herbs stuck up in the top...the new design is such that there is a seal to prevent leaks when processing liquids...which is great....but things get stuck up in there....and while there are tiny "vent" type holes on the top I assume for purging with water??...it doesn't work....I washed that top FOREVER..... and still there were pieces of herb in there....I'm concerned about when I go to grind up meat!! am I going to have pieces of meat that I can't get out????? I know the people at Cuisinart saw this FLAW how could they not???? you can't miss it when you're trying to clean it....they could have at least installed some type of antibacterial material around there...or sealed it better to prevent food from being able to lodge up in there....I don't know if I should keep the machine....it cost me 300 bucks!!! I'm so torn because other than that FLAW....I really like it....darn it Cusinart!!!
