Talk about multitasking! You'll save precious counter space and cut down on clutter as this appliance performs double duty. The Hamilton Beach BlenderChef comprises a blender and a food processor that share a single base with a powerful motor and 12 settings. The food processor features a 3-cup plastic bowl with food chute and oil dispenser, a stainless-steel "S" blade for chopping and mixing, and a reversible disc blade for slicing and shredding. The 40-ounce glass blender jar has a wide mouth for easy pouring. For all it's capable of, this unit is both handy and compact. --Alison Golder
Comment: This appliance has worked excellent for me over the last 10yrs! Although, after 10yrs, the cogs that join the food processor/blender top to the base have worn down and no longer catch onto each other. My boys, now 13 & 17, routinely removed the blender from the base before the motor completely stopped. I feel the wear would have been at a slower pace had the young hands been more careful! I do not recommend this size food processor for a family larger than 4 because the bowl would be too small. I would have given 5 stars but the the two products didn't "nest" and required enough storage space for 2 appliances. Had I not received a new blender/processor as a gift I would have purchased this item again.

Comment: This little guy has come in quite handy from time to time. It is a little on the small side, but considering it does two jobs in one, I can't complain.

Summary: Bad Clutches 2006-05-26
Comment: The blender works great and the food processor worked well for about a month. It has since then stopped working. It seems the to be the clutches inside the food proccessor. The smallest force (cheese, carrots, tomatoes) can stop the blades in the food processor. If you are going to get a blender, this is a fine blender, but if you are going for a food processor, get a real food processor.

Summary: Great tool for the price 2003-01-03
Comment: The motor is strong enough to make a good smoothie or salsa, and the space saving aspect of two tops for one bottom is great. It's not the best in the world, but for $[money], I can't think of a better buy in the kitchen.
