Summary: KitchenAid does not mark their accessories well, Amazon does not match accessories well. 2010-05-26
Comment: I bought a large Kitchenaid food processor some years ago and was so excited that I immediately bought this set of discs, unfortunately the use of the device did not match my excitement and these sat for a year before I got around to using them. My mistake, these are not for the 11 cup processor I have, they are for another model. The confusion comes in that they were listed as an accessory for my model on the page, bad show Amazon. This happens quite often, the lids listed as an accessory for the KitchenaAid Artisan is not the correct model. Now I can't use them, I can't return them, and can't find anyone locally to buy them, my only hope is trying to sell them through the marketplace or ebay. So the moral of the story is, alway unpack your orders and test them immediately. Now I can't use them
Comment: This was a gift and the recipient couldn't be happier. I knew that it would be used and appreciated because I have the same accessories. I use them daily and they do the job quickly and efficiently.

Summary: Does not fit 9 cup prosessor 2006-10-08
Comment: I recently bought a new fp from Amazon as well as this disc set. Upon arrival I found that this set will not fit the new 9 cup fp. I called the vendor and was told that I was wrong and was disconnected. I called kitchenaid and my findings were confirmed. The set only fits an older 9 cup fp. I ordered the set from KitchenAid. The reason I gave the set only one star was for the following reasons. First the set does not fit. Secondly, the vender ( Ace Hardware )was very rude by hanging up.

Summary: Very useful, but limited by the feed tube 2006-05-30
Comment: These are great discs for the food processor. They are sharp and work well. The problem is really that the machine they fit has a small feed tube. I e-mailed KitchenAid and asked them to sell a separate replacement lid with a wide-mouth feed tube to really take advantage of the french fry disc, and others. They said that is not going to happen.
The french fry disc is not really useful for french fries because they come out very short. However, it is great for dicing fruits and vegetables--tomatoes, peppers, onions, strawberries, etc. When you can't just process things with the regular blade because the pieces get too small, this disc is wonderful.
The ice/parmesan disc is for harder foods that you would normally grate manually, like ginger or parmesan. (Works great on parmesan. You can turn a block of fresh parmesan into a mound of fluffy shredded cheese in seconds.) Theoretically it would work for lemon zest, too, but I haven't yet worked out how to that well. The larger shredding disc and thicker slicing discs also come in handy.
Overall, the discs expand the versatility of the processor and worth getting, IMHO.
